Talk show Queen Oprah Winfrey confessed that launching her OWN TV network was a mistake apparently. She said that she was unaware about the unexpected problems running her TV channel.
OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) a joint venture of Discovery communication and the chat show host was launched in January 2011 since then it is struggling to survive. It is also mentionable that recently TV administration has lay off 1/3 jobs of total staff though they were adjusted in sister companies or associated organizations.
She said that she wanted to join cable network seriously as an entrepreneur, sadly it could not go smooth. “The idea of creating a network was something that I’d wanted to do. Had I’d known that it was this difficult, I might have done something else,” she said in breakfast show ‘This Morning”.
Winfrey said, she assumed everything would go well nevertheless it did not occur. It proved itself as a mistake or wrong decision.
“Launching when we really were not ready to launch, it’s like having the wedding when you know you are not ready and you are walking down the aisle, and you are saying, ‘I don’t know… maybe we should have postponed it,” talk show queen added.
