Jackie Chan announces his retirement from action films

Iconic Hollywood star Jackie Chan is retiring from action films.

58-year old Chan announced his decision in the Cannes Film Festival and said it is because of his age. He said he did not feel comfortable with more action scenes in this age and his upcoming film “Chinese Zodiac” will be his last action flick.

“I am not young any more. I am really, really tired,” China based star said.

He also expressed his feelings for increasing violence in today’s films as he does not like violence.

“The world is too violent right now. It’s a dilemma — I love fighting. I like action. but I don’t like violence,” Chan added.

As a whole generation is grown up seeing his action films none of his film had violence despite they had deaths, accidents and lot of marvelous action sequences but he did not support violence. Besides it, Jackie is also known for his humor mix action scene which you enjoy laughing.

“I don’t just want to be an action star, I want to be a true actor. I want to get rid of my image. I want the audience to know also I’m not only a comedian. I can act. Day by day, year by year, I’m going to show you the real Jackie Chan,” Chan said. In his last film ‘The Karate Kid’ Chan’s fan see him crossing the image line set by decades and he did it successfully.

In his upcoming film “Chinese Zodiac” Jackie will reprise role of Asian Hawk a man who is searching the world for 12 bronze symbols from the Chinese zodiac to save the humanity.
