‘Hunger Games’ mill town for sale

Henry River Mill Village near Hildebran, North Carolina is all set to sale. Earlier ‘Hunger Games’ shooting it was a deserted and forgotten place for everyone. It was a company town of Henry River Manufacturing Co. which established cotton yarn mills here. Sadly all was destroyed in 1977’s fire and the village had forgotten by the local residents.

Village again came in news when the ‘The Hunger Games’ producers finalized the place to shoot forthcoming movie and first in the series of ‘Hunger Games.’ It was redecorated, reconstructed and used as Katniss Everdeen’s slum in the movie. Since then it has been converted into a tourist place, everyday movie fans come here and take photos of the scene places. It insisted Wade Shepherd, owner of the village spread in a skirt area of 72 acres to take action to protect his property.

Though 83-year old Shepherd neither read nor the fan of ‘Hunger Games’ book but he want to protect his rights. While the movie get bumper weekend opening of $155 million village has been attracting tourists regularly. Additionally the North Carolina tourism site is also offering a four day visit to Hunger Games village Henry River Mill Village, even successful movie has brought an excess profit of $60 million into the state economy.
